Career Concepts is a unique business that truly helps its clients thrive in today’s tough job market. We recently had the privilege to have Marlene shed light on some of the frequently asked questions received by Career Concepts.

What does Career Concepts, Inc. do?

One of the common questions we get is exactly how we help our clients. We are a full-service, certified career management and development firm. We recently celebrated our 15th year in business and work locally, regionally and nationally. Our clientele are high achievers from all fields who want to identify and maximize their careers, and that’s why they come to a career management firm!

Some of the specific services we provide aid in focus and direction through career aptitude profiling, packaging, customized resumes, focus and marketing pieces, social media profiles, interview prep and videotaping, research, salary negotiation and establishing immediate and long range career objectives.  As one of my clients shared, “Career Coaches tell you what to do, you guys give us the tools and resources to do it!”

The reason many of my clients come to me is simply for career management to grow their careers! They love their jobs and their companies, but they are are savvy enough to recognize the need for professional assistance. In today’s market, they need to stay abreast of current trends and gain a competitive edge.

Statistics show that today, people change jobs every 2 years, companies every 3 years and , can you believe it, industries every 4 years. In this age of downsizing and outsourcing, they need to be able to take charge of their careers, so they come to us.

What gets you up in the morning to come to work after 15 years?

The main reason I love my job is the relationships with my clients. I love strategizing, brainstorming and guiding my clients. Most of all, I love making connections!

What differentiates Career Concepts, Inc. from other career management firms?

We’re unique because of our hands-on, individualized service and support. The longer I do this, the more hands-on I get and the more excited I get!

  • We do in-depth research on companies and opportunities for our clients; my assistant does that all day long!

  • We belong to organizations all over town, attend events and seminars on a weekly basis in order to hear about new opportunities for our clients, and take our clients with us so they can network comfortably and effectively.

  • We do hands-on social media tutoring by experts for every client since that’s how recruiters and hiring managers are finding candidates.

  • We do consistent workshops on every aspect of our program, as well as bi-monthly workshops where we host speakers who will benefit and grow our clientele.

By far, our biggest asset is our extensive and amazing client base.  As I’ve mentioned, we’ve been around 15 years and our clients are invaluable resources for each other.  In many cases, our clients hire our clients!

We work with all levels from recent college grads to C-Suite Execs, but the common denominator is that they are constant learners and constant growers. What a great job I have!
